I consider myself an experienced experience designer. (And no, that isn’t a typo.) Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated with a wide range of teams and clients to create beautiful, functional, approachable experiences in both the digital and physical worlds.
In the digital world, I help clients tackle the “hairball” projects—complex, head-scratching business problems that no one else seems able to crack. Whether I’m developing website architecture and wireframes, user-testing prototypes or overhauling complex business systems, I look at the issue from different viewpoints, ask a ton of questions and work quickly to identify answers. As an experience design consultant, I engage with companies hands-on, digging in to understand their people and processes, defining their problems and leading their teams to uncover and implement smart solutions.
In the physical world, I work with clients to create personal, livable homes that perfectly capture their tastes and lifestyles. As an interior design consultant, I connect with homeowners to understand their interests and budgets, identify key pieces or colors to build upon, and curate a collection of furniture and accessories they’ll love to live with. I bring an unusually professional, detail-oriented and personalized approach that makes my clients feel comfortable and confident in the process.
What do these two worlds have in common? My work allows me to tap into the creative and analytical sides of my brain in equal measure. After earning a bachelor’s degree in graphic design (with a minor in architecture) from Carnegie Mellon and postgraduate certification in interior design from UCLA, I hung out my shingle as an experience design consultant. Working independently allows me to pivot from one project to the next, gathering insight and experience that I bring to every new assignment.
My clients tell me I’m an empathetic, intuitive reader of people and situations. I easily shift gears among project management, team leadership, and roll-up-the-sleeves work. I bridge the communication gaps between creative and technical folks and help them work more effectively together. I love challenge, I thrive on collaboration and I want my clients to feel taken care of.
